Our vision is to create spaces where families affected by disability experience true belonging. Every family should feel seen, supported, and valued, both in our community and in their church family.

Through our Inclusive Pathways program, we equip churches to build inclusive environments where families affected by disability can thrive. We provide the resources and guidance necessary to help churches reflect God’s heart for all people, ensuring that every family has a place where they can grow in faith and feel fully embraced.

Our programs—from Bible studies and support groups to retreats and  events—are designed to foster an inclusive, welcoming space for families to connect, find encouragement, and walk confidently in their faith. We focus on empowering families to live fully in God’s design and to experience the love and support of a community that cares.

At A Little Extra Love, we celebrate the unique abilities of each person and believe that true belonging is rooted in the love of Christ. Every individual is valued, and every family is encouraged to thrive in their purpose.

Our Vision

At A Little Extra Love

We’re Kyle and Rachael, just a couple of adventurers raising our two incredible boys in the Rocky Mountains. Our journey took an unexpected turn when our son Caleb was diagnosed with Down syndrome and complex medical needs. What followed has been a wild, beautiful ride of embracing the unknown and finding joy in the little things God shows us along the way.

After relocating to Colorado in search of a better quality of life for our son, Caleb, we quickly discovered that 1 in 20 families here are navigating the challenges of raising a child with a disability. While we hoped to find more opportunities for connection and support, we realized that there were few places where families like ours could truly belong. We longed for a space where we could connect with others who understood the unique joys and struggles we face, but such a place didn’t seem to exist. There wasn’t a community where we felt fully supported, seen, or celebrated for who we were as a family. So, we did what any parents would do—we created that space.

A Little Extra Love was born out of our own need for belonging. We wanted to create a community where families affected by disability could come together, share their stories, and find the support we were missing. A place where every individual, no matter their ability, could be celebrated and empowered to walk confidently in their purpose. And, most importantly, a place where families could experience God’s love and grace, not just survive, but thrive.

What started as a small dream has grown into something incredible. Today, we are serving over 300 families on the ground in Colorado and reaching thousands online. Through our Bible studies, support groups, community events, and our Inclusive Pathways program, we’ve built a network of families who understand each other, encourage one another, and share in the journey together. We’ve seen firsthand how important it is to create spaces that truly embrace people with disabilities—not as an afterthought, but as valued members of the body of Christ.

Our Inclusive Pathways program has been a key part of this vision. We’re equipping churches to build inclusive environments where families like ours can belong, worship, learn, and grow in faith. We provide the tools, training, and support churches need to break down barriers and create spaces that are accessible and welcoming to everyone. We want every church to be a place where all God’s children—regardless of ability—can experience the love and community they deserve.

A Message From Our Founders

What we’ve learned along the way is this: when you don’t have the space you need, you create it. And God has taken our small dream and turned it into something that’s impacting families across the world. We’re so thankful for what He’s done and so excited for what’s to come.

With all our love and a little extra,

Rachael & Kyle Vermeulen

At A Little Extra Love, we understand that every family member faces unique challenges in the journey of disability. That’s why we offer Bible studies that cater to the spiritual needs of each family member, empowering them to grow, heal, and connect with others.

For Moms: Our Bible studies provide a nurturing space for moms to come together, reflect on God’s promises, and find the strength to thrive. These sessions offer spiritual encouragement, fellowship, and practical tools to grow in faith while navigating the road of caregiving.

For Dads: Specifically designed for fathers, our Bible studies offer an opportunity to connect with other men, share experiences, and deepen their faith. Together, we explore how to lead our families with resilience, hope, and purpose in the midst of adversity.

For Siblings: Siblings of children with disabilities often carry a unique set of emotions and challenges. Our Bible studies offer them a safe space to process their feelings, find understanding, and grow spiritually. These studies help siblings embrace their role, build resilience, and discover their God-given purpose within the family.

No matter your role, our Bible studies foster a compassionate community where faith deepens, struggles are shared, and families are strengthened together.

Statement of Faith

At A Little Extra Love, we are rooted in the truth of God’s Word, which guides all we do.

We affirm the following Core Beliefs:

God’s Word: The Bible is the infallible Word of God, without error, trustworthy, and unchanging. It is the foundation for all we do.
(2 Timothy 3:15-17, 2 Peter 1:19-21)

God: We believe in one God, existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1, Deuteronomy 6:4)

Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, died for our sins, and rose from the dead.
(John 1:1-18, Colossians 1:13-22)

Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin, equips us for ministry, and dwells within believers. (Acts 1:8, Ephesians 1:13-14)

Salvation: Salvation comes only through Jesus Christ, by grace through faith. (Romans 3:23, Romans 10:9, Ephesians 2:8-9)

The Church: The Church is the body of Christ, called to fulfill God’s mission on Earth. (Matthew 28:19-20, 1 Peter 5:1-5)
