CO-FOUNDER & CEO
Rachael Vermeulen
Rachael Vermeulen is the co-founder and CEO of A Little Extra Love, as well as a writer, speaker, missionary, and Bible teacher. She holds degrees in Biblical Studies and Advertising and Marketing and brings a decade of nonprofit and ministry experience spanning curriculum development, program design, branding, and marketing strategy. After her family experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to find meaningful belonging within the Church, Rachael helped create the ministry she once needed—one that supports families affected by disability and equips churches to welcome them well. As a mother of three, including her son Caleb, who has Down syndrome, autism, and complex medical needs, Rachael brings lived experience, theological depth, and a deeply personal understanding of caregiving to her work. She is passionate about helping families feel seen, strengthening their faith, and building a Church where every person is known, valued, and given a place to belong.

Kyle Vermeulen
Kyle Vermeulen is the co-founder and president of A Little Extra Love, helping guide the organization’s leadership, growth, and commitment to serving families affected by disability. He brings years of experience in sales, entrepreneurship, and management, with a particular strength in developing scalable systems across the nonprofit and financial technology sectors. As a father of three, including his son Caleb, who has Down syndrome, autism, and complex medical needs, Kyle understands the joys, pressures, and often-unspoken realities of special needs fatherhood. His lived experience fuels his passion for helping churches move beyond awareness toward practical, lasting belonging. Kyle also leads A Little Extra Love’s ministry for fathers, creating spaces where dads can find honest connection, encouragement, and support. He is committed to strengthening families and equipping churches to walk alongside them with compassion, confidence, and consistency.

FAMILY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR
Sara Porter
Sara Porter is a licensed clinical social worker and therapist, also holding a degree in biblical studies. In her work as a therapist, she supports families, adolescents and children. Some of her areas of focus include trauma, grief and eating disorders. As a special needs mom to her son, Elias, and a mother to babies in heaven, Sara brings both professional expertise and deeply personal compassion to the families she serves. As A Little Extra Love’s Family Engagement Coordinator, she leads online Bible studies, supports the women in our ministry, and creates spaces where mothers feel seen, understood, and reminded they do not have to walk alone. She lives in Maine with her son and husband.

OPERATIONS MANAGER
Savannah Butler
Savannah Butler serves as A Little Extra Love’s Operations Manager, overseeing the behind-the-scenes systems and administrative work that keep the ministry moving forward. She holds a degree in Event Planning and Design and brings years of management and administrative experience across the insurance and ministry fields. With a natural gift for creating thoughtful, welcoming spaces, Savannah spearheads A Little Extra Love’s commitment to radical hospitality, ensuring that every event, gathering, and family interaction communicates care and belonging. Growing up with an aunt who has disabilities and serving as part of her caregiving team gave Savannah a deeply personal connection to the ministry’s mission. Savannah lives in Colorado with her two children.
